Business Development Manager – North Africa

Food People are working with a leading food manufacturing company for a Business Development Manager to be based in Algeria

Food People is working with a leading regional food manufacturing company that is looking for a BDM to expand the business in the North African market. You will be responsible for growing the brand in the retail channels while working alongside distributors
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute business strategies across French and Arabic-speaking African regions
- Identify and evaluate potential business opportunities and partnerships to drive company growth
- Identify, onboard, and manage strategic partners, including distributors, joint ventures, and co-packers
- Ensure best-in-class execution of commercial agreements, pricing, distribution targets, and brand activations
- Oversee full P&L and monitor receivables to ensure sustainable cash flow and credit risk mitigation
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Finance, Marketing, Legal, and Quality teams
- Travel extensively to build market presence, relationships, and oversee operations
Key Ingredients:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, International Trade, or related; a postgraduate qualification is a plus
- Over 10 years in commercial or business development roles, ideally in food products across African markets
- Proven track record in distributor management and developing new market entry strategies
- Strong contract negotiation, partner management, and trade marketing activation capabilities
- Fluent in Arabic, French, and English is a must
