Key Account Manager

Food People has partnered with a Food ingredients company to bring onboard a Key Account Manager to be based in Lagos

  • Must have commercial experience in food ingredients industry
  • Must have network and experience managing neighbouring countries
  • Must be willing to be based in Lagos

Food People is partnered with a food ingredients business looking to appoint an Account Manager to manage and grow a portfolio of customers across Nigeria and Ghana. This role sits within the Sales function and focuses on executing the commercial strategy, strengthening customer relationships, and identifying growth opportunities

Key responsibilities

  • Manage and grow relationships with customers, acting as the main point of contact for day-to-day interactions
  • Manage Nigeria, Ghana, and potentially lead other neighboring markets
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to proactively manage customer needs and resolve any challenges
  • Lead regular customer engagements, including meetings and visits, to gain a deep understanding of customer priorities and business goals
  • Spot and develop opportunities for growth within existing customers, alongside prospecting for new business
  • Support commercial planning by contributing to customer plans, sales materials, and performance updates
  • Provide informed input into forecasting by sharing customer insights, market intelligence, and performance trends
  • Work cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and customer service teams to ensure aligned execution and delivery

Key Ingredients

  • Bachelor’s degree alongside proven exposure to account management or business development
  • Must have experience within the food ingredients industry
  • Must have managed global and regional food/beverages accounts
  • Must have managed Nigeria (currently based there OR open to relocate there)
  • Must be fluent in English, but Arabic/French is a plus
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify commercial opportunities
