Privacy Policy

1. WHO WE ARE

Our website address is: http://www.foodpeople.ae. Food People is a recruitment agency specialising in the food and beverage sector. In the course of our operations, we interact with a wide range of external stakeholders, including candidates, clients, suppliers, and third-party partners. This privacy policy applies not only to our website visitors but also to all individuals whose personal data we process in the context of recruitment, business operations, and service delivery.

2. COMMENTS

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service Privacy Policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/.

After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

3. MEDIA

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

4. COOKIES

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year. If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser. When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

5. EMBEDDED CONTENT FROM OTHER WEBSITES

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

6. WHO WE SHARE YOUR DATA WITH

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

In the context of recruitment or business services, we may share data with trusted third-party service providers, such as background check vendors, interview scheduling tools, or technical support platforms, all under contractual data protection obligations. We ensure that any third parties we engage apply appropriate security and compliance standards.

7. HOW LONG WE RETAIN YOUR DATA

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This allows us to recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically, rather than holding them in a moderation queue.

For users who register on our website (if any), we store the personal information provided in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except for changing their username). Website administrators can also view and edit that information.

Outside the website, we may retain personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes of recruitment, legal compliance, or business continuity. Data retention periods vary depending on the nature of the data and our regulatory obligations.

8. WHAT RIGHTS YOU HAVE OVER YOUR DATA

If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes. In addition, all individuals whose personal data we process – whether online or in other interactions with us – have the right to request access, correction, erasure, or restriction of processing, as well as to object to certain types of processing. You may also have the right to data portability under applicable data protection laws. Please note that data processed via third-party AI tools (see 10 How We Use AI-powered and Digital Tools) may not always be permanently erasable due to technical limitations. In such cases, we will take reasonable steps to restrict further use and safeguard your privacy.

9. WHERE YOUR DATA IS SENT

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

In the course of our operations, data may be transferred outside the UAE to trusted partners and service providers who support our recruitment, IT, and operational systems. Where such transfers occur, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as contractual agreements, to meet the requirements of UAE data protection law.

10. HOW WE USE AI-POWERED AND DIGITAL TOOLS

To support our recruitment services, we use a combination of secure third-party tools, including AIpowered platforms and productivity systems. These assist with tasks such as summarising notes, formatting documents, capturing form inputs, managing schedules, and enhancing communication with candidates and clients. Some of these tools use artificial intelligence to improve efficiency, while others support operational workflows without AI functionality.

We also use enterprise-grade AI tools, including ChatGPT Teams, to assist with content generation and job-related information processing. These tools are governed by a signed Data Processing Agreement (DPA) and include strict security measures such as encryption in transit and at rest. All AI systems are operated under restricted access and in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

Some processes may involve limited personal information, such as names or job-specific details, used solely to support recruitment-related activities. While we take care to minimise data sharing and follow robust safeguards, please note that information processed by third-party AI tools may not always be permanently erasable due to technical limitations. Importantly, we do not use AI to make decisions that have legal or significant effects on individuals without human oversight. Where AI tools are used to support our team’s work, you retain the right to object, request further information, or exercise your data rights under applicable laws.
