General Ledger Manager

Saudi Arabia - Riyadh

Food People has partnered with a leading FMCG business in Riyadh, KSA to hire a General Ledger Manager to lead financial reporting, month-end close activities, and accounting operations while ensuring compliance, accuracy, and strong financial controls across the organization.

About the role:

We are looking to appoint a General Ledger Manager to oversee the integrity of the accounting function and support the business through accurate financial reporting and strong financial governance. This role is ideal for a finance professional who combines technical accounting expertise with strong leadership capabilities and a proactive approach to process improvement. Working closely with cross-functional teams, the successful candidate will play a key role in driving financial control, supporting business decisions, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the general ledger function and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities in line with reporting deadlines
  • Prepare and review monthly financial statements and supporting schedules
  • Review trial balances and ensure all reconciliations are completed accurately and on time
  • Develop and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Support the implementation and enhancement of financial systems and processes
  • Monitor compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements
  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support business decision-making
  • Prepare budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis reports
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to improve financial processes and operational efficiency
  • Manage, coach, and develop team members to drive performance and capability building
  • Support internal and external audits and ensure timely resolution of audit findings

Key Ingredients:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
  • Due to Saudization, this role is only open to Saudi Nationals
  • Minimum 6 years of accounting and finance experience, including exposure to general ledger management and financial reporting
  • Previous experience leading or supervising finance team members
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial controls, and reporting standards
  • Experience managing month-end close and financial statement preparation processes
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide meaningful insights
  • Experience working within FMCG, manufacturing, or a fast-paced commercial environment is advantageous
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong proficiency with ERP systems
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
