Legal Counsel

Food People has partnered with a leading organisation to appoint an experienced Legal Counsel to oversee legal operations across multiple countries in the Middle East. This is a senior leadership position responsible for providing strategic legal guidance to executive management, protecting the business from legal risk, and ensuring robust governance, compliance, and commercial support across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the principal legal advisor to executive leadership on strategic, commercial, and operational matters
- Lead and develop the legal function, providing guidance, oversight, and support to the wider legal team
- Manage corporate governance activities across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory obligations
- Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including supplier contracts, partnership agreements, franchise arrangements, and property-related documentation
- Provide legal support on business expansion initiatives, investments, and strategic projects
- Oversee employment law matters, ensuring compliance with applicable labour legislation across operating markets
- Manage litigation strategy, dispute resolution processes, and relationships with external legal counsel
- Partner with senior stakeholders across Finance, HR, Operations, Sales, and other departments to provide commercially focused legal advice
Key Ingredients
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law (Master’s Degree preferred)
- Qualified legal professional with the ability to practise within the UAE and/or Saudi Arabia
- 12–15 years of legal experience gained within an in-house legal environment
- Preferably comes from an FMCG manufacturing industry
- Fluency in both English and Arabic is required
